What is the freight forwarder's role?
The freight forwarder is an entity in charge of finding the best solution for transporting freight from point A to point B as fast as possible and at the best price.
As a freight forwarder, we take care of managing goods transport by air and/or truck for you.
We also handle organisation of the document flow: air waybill (AWB), goods invoices, packing list…
But there is more to our job than organising transport: we offer you complete, tailored support.
At your service to meet your needs
Additional services to save you time
Our services go way beyond the usual freight forwarding role.
So ACL has everything in place to make life easier for you and save you from having to deal with numerous contacts, and the costs they entail.
We can take care of clearing your freight through customs, as we are authorised customs agents and have Approved Economic Operator status (AEO).
We have several bonded warehouses (and TSFs: temporary storage facilities) to deal with the logistical aspect of your transports.
To this end, we are specially authorised by the customs services to handle and store goods during and after customs clearance.
All our agencies have authorised agent certification awarded by the DGAC (French Directorate General for Civil Aviation) or OFAC (Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation).
As an authorised agent, we can also ensure air freight security.
Lastly, a number of ACL employees* have IATA dangerous goods certifications (air freight) so they can handle and produce specific documents for hazardous materials, in France and Switzerland alike.
*IATA dangerous goods certifications are associated with natural persons, not legal persons.
